Recently widowed Martha, 73, was finding it tough to make ends meet. Her husband of 48 years had recently passed away and Martha was trying to manage her living situation and finances on her own for the first time. Many women face this situation in their later years, finding themselves alone and with limited resources. 

Martha’s rent was going up $400 per month and she had no idea how she was going to manage that on a fixed income. Our Seniors Supports team helped her fill out and submit applications for subsidized housing and she was eventually able to find an apartment she could afford.  

She's grateful for all the support she received and is well on her way to making a fresh start!
